The Dog Interview
logo Hi. I was Katie and my spirit is here to talk about the dog interview.

For everybody's safety, each and every one of you wanting to stay here must pass the DFD (dog friendly dog) test. It consists of:
  • Meeting and sniffing (well Bob doesn't sniff) all the dogs that are here on any given day, which these days is at least 15 because
of all the rescue work we do. We figure if you get along with all of us, you will get along with all dogs on any given day. A little
bit of growling and snapping is acceptable as long as it never escalates beyond that.

  • Bob also insists that you either come when called or let him approach you and be put on a leash or be picked up. This is so he
can get us in the house and separate for feeding or safety when he is not home .

  • It takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to do this test.

  • Also, we like to jump and greet so please come very casually dressed.

  • Here is what to expect. It is a very different experience. Not many people have been around this many excited dogs. Imagine meeting 15 or more very excited people poking and proding you and trying to get to know you. It is overwhelming. But about 15 minutes after everyone is introduced, it really calms down. Well except for Sable who stays excited longer than most and Einstein and Bailey who love to keep barking. There is also a good chance if Ben is one of the first he will possibly charge your dog but it is a one time predictable event and then he goes and sits in his pen and ignores your dog the rest of its stay. Ben is just that way.
  • Please play this video of what FFPP is really like during non-interview times so you will have something to compare it to during the craziness of the interview. Click here here to view video.

If the dog passes our interveiw and we pass yours, then paperwork is completed and a reservation is made. This is the only time this process is necessary. From then on, It takes all of 2 minutes to drop off your dog(s) and food and then be on your way.
